Austin City Limits Post

But of course, some pictures go a little futher back.
Russell, Katherine, and Jeremiah. (And Bruce too, of course.)

Russell tried out the Amberjaque. Which unfortunately for him was 2/3rds head.

Fun in the kitchen.

Kaitlin, Wes, and Leland.

So finally, later on, we head on out to ACL. We're so happy. We totally drove all the way to Austin with big smiles on our faces.

To the Hannermobile!

Oh Garrett, you can't escape the fisheye lens.

We finally arrived at like 6:45 in the mernin. All so tired.

But you know what...we got some sleep, and then Eric and I were full of energy!!

I think I tried some fancy trick here.

So finally, we made it to Zilker park.

Everyone's doing the nose thing!

Finally, inside, we sawr Ted Leo from a ways away.

But the all-powerful camera can see things we can't.

The Dears were pretty good.

We all caught up at Wolf Parade. The girls in the group picture.

But never fear! Eric's here.

A lotttttttttt of people for Wolf Parade.

Dan Boeckner!

Hadji Bakara!

And of course, Mr. Spencer Krug, who apparently worked with Mr. Bejar on his Destroyer albums.

Wolf Parade was so freaking good. Their set was the perfect length. They played just about everything, including stuff off their EP like DISCO SHEETS!!

On the way to Gnarls.

I forgot what band this was. But they were alright. I like pedal steel.

So did you know that the greeks, after listening to techno music, invented falafel? (What a presumptuous claim!)

I had to sit through the last few minutes of Los Lonely Boys to get a good spot for John Mayer.

The bassist just felt like playing both guitar and bass.

Awww these guys know how to share!

Behind the back!

The crowd for John Mayer.

There he is!

His ghost is coming out of him on this one.

And he looks like Edward Scissorhands in this one.

Soooo many people.

The JM set was really really good. He played alot of stuff off of Continuum, and luckily he played the good ones off of there. He also played a song off of Heavier Things, but he definitely definitely definitely rocked out some goldens from Room for Squares which I was happy to have heard. I wish he'd of played Neon though.

Back at the house where we stayed, Hannah's cousin drew some dragons.

The next day, we went to the drag/strip/whatever.

Blayne and her Entourage.

Bubble tea.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh man Phoenix was so so so so so so so so so good, just as I remembered them being.

The wind was blowing.

Thomas is looking straight at me in this one!

Saw a little bit of Galactic.

TV on the Radio was pretty good.

Windchimes!

And of course like four people on the drumset.

Here we are having a break, and listening to the Shins.

Garrett and this little duck love TV on the Radio.

We kind of sat through What Made Milwaukee Famous to get a good spot for Explosions in the Sky, but ironically, I left in the middle of the set to catch Brazillian Girls while the rest of the crew stayed.

Everyone looks so angry!

Except this guy.

Anyhow, I left in the middle of their set to go see Brazilian Girls which were so so good. It was a different vibe from everything else I saw that weekend.

Back in time for Explosions.

Explosions was really really really good too. I can see why alot of people like them.

Come to the light!

Willie Nelson from a far ways back.

Next day!!
Eric is drinking some Orange Juice from the dino cup.

Have a Ball in Darwin, MN.

More of Alex's dragons.

My crayons melted after leaving them in my car.

So it rained, but that's okay because we got to see Anathallo in the rain which was probably one of my top three memories from the weekend. Anathallo is so so good.

And I kind of think that the girl from Anathallo is really cute.

The girrrls. Or well, half of them. The other two ditched us to get a good spot for the Stills. We thought we'd never see 'em again!

But you know what, thanks to the Jumbotron, we found them. Ginger's hiding behind some dude.

The Stills. Their first song was horrrrrrrrrible. Thank goodness the rest of their set got better.

So afterwards, we all discussed the plan.

I got bored discussing, so I took a picture of Garrett's sexy legs.

Then we got to see this Children's band called the Imagination Movers. Blayne knew the lead singer, and believe it or not, they were actually pretty freaking awesome.

Clifford even came out and danced with everyone.

Then we all fraternized with Scott.

Big Grocery Bag!

Food circle.

Sleep circle.

The ground we stood upon.

The crowd we stood within.

The wife who I always make good memories of Austin with!

Asian Keyboardist?

Drummer? Bassist?

This must mean that Matisyahu is playing!

Matisyahu is watching you.

Then of course, the highlight of the entire festival had to be seeing the Lips again.

Getting into the bubble!

Hey Wayne!!

Confetti!

Dancing Santas

Then, Mr. Coyne heard about Ben Kweller having an intense nosebleed the day before. So in his honor, Mr. Coyne poured fake blood on his head.

Oh Yoshimi!!!

Blayne wanted to catch a little bit of Muse on the way out, so we did.

Such good memories!

And then later that week, we went to go see Sufjan!

With the other girls in the other car.

Unfortunately, I have no Sufjan pictures to share.
