The earlier parts of November, and primarily October.
October has been a hell of a month. It was probably one of the best months I've ever had in my life, for a multitude of reasons. But I'm sad to report that October is now long gone.
Anyhow, here's photo documentation of some of the things that went on during October.

On Friday the 13th, there was an art party. Here is Ashley, Sam, and Nash's PJ Harvey Cover Band.

For having been very unrehearsed, they did very well. I thought they sounded great!

There was a room with balloons, and you could hold a knife and stab them and pop them it was great.

Then Charles played a set! I'm glad he came down. I ended up hanging out with him, Ginger, and Katie the rest of the night. We totally went to Dan's Diner and almost got killed, pretty exciting times.
Oh yeah, I played too. None of these pictures are mine, but oh well. Starting with May's!

So fast forward to later on that week. Wednesday. I drove to Diamondhead to meet Katie's dog, and her parents too? It was a little awkward, but oh well.

Alas, we made it to D'head.


Later that night, I returned back to Hattiesburg for a surprise visit to open mic night.
The next morning, on what was arguably one of the best trips to Atlanta I've ever made, Pat, Ginger, Eric and I set out on our journey. We stopped at Krispy Kreme that morning.
Drove to Tuscaloosa, and ate some ribs. At this place, Dreamland.

We stopped at a porn shop in Oxford, AL. It was really kind of funny. Ginger was going as little-bo-peep, and since she had lost her sheep, she was hoping to buy some more at the porn shop. The clerk regretfully informed her that he had purchased the last one. Anyways, love stuff. A touch of class for adults.
People really like Auburn around here, I suppose!

Made it to Atlanta, ate at this place with Joslyn.

The one thing I don't like about Atlanta is the ridiculous traffic.

Broken Social Scene
Who was very very very very good, btw. Even though these first few pictures are actually of Do Make Say Think, who are also very very very good.








And this kind of sucks, but I lost my memory card, and don't have many pictures from the Broken Social Scene set. I wish I could find it. I may have left it at Joslyn's. You'll have to deal with these pictures for now.
Brendan Canning plays so fast, he spontaneously combusts.
Kevin Drew has nice eyes. He's so dreamy.
Fast forward to next weekend,
I went to Voodoo Music Festival.
Other than the three amazing acts I saw, it was pretty lame.
But don't be fooled, Jamie Lidell was amazing. And though I don't want to commit heresy by saying that his performance was better than Broken Social Scene's or The Flaming Lips, I will say that he did stand his ground, and it was a really really good performance. Particularly for a solo act.

Then later that night, we returned to the Burg for a Halloween Party. Here's some of that:




So the next day we returned to Voodoofest.
My brother thought it would be a good idea to see Jack's Mannequin, but I think this Andrew guy kind of ruins piano bands for me. I just can't get into his music.




So naturally, we left for the black hearts procession. Or whatever these people were called.

Hugh and I hit up the playstation tent to try Guitar Hero 2. Then we were even more enticed by Singstar, which is FINALLY coming to the states. We sang Bloc Party's Banquet, Blur's Song 2, and started singing Elton John's rocketman.

While waiting, this guy got stuck in a tree. Everybody at the festival was watching on the screens, and you could hear thousands of people chanting, "Jump! Jump! Jump!", and we cheered when he got out.

It was such a great show. I was expecting him to play solo, but he sounds better with a backing band. He played alot of newer Songs for Silverman-esque stuff. Jesusland and Trusted sound really really good live. But towards the end of the show, he naturally returned to his roots, and I'm glad he did, because he played some real gems. During the Army singalong, he didn't even have to explain, he was like, "You guys already know the deal." And naturally, most everybody did.
I guess this wasn't really in October, and neither was Ben Folds, but last wednesday, I went with Pat to Lion's Choice. Why do you ask? You'll find out in a bit.
Me: "Excuse me, do you have a limit on how many hot dogs you can purchase?"
Cashier: "Uh, no?"
Me: "Saweet. I'll have ten please."
Wednesday is Family day, aka $.49 hot dogs. So I did the hot dog challenge.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 hot dogs.

Pat asked me to stage this one, though surprisingly enough, I felt fine afterwards. I felt fine until I started throwing the football around with Pat later on that day.
